So it’s the end of school for the year and classes are ending. That doesn’t mean that educational school supplies fall by the way side. As school ends parents begin to wig out. This is mostly because they still have to go to work and leave their kids at home. Hence, summer programs were invented.
If you’re a teacher or summer program aide, it’s time to get out the board games, get the arts and crafts supplies, and ready yourself for another group of rambunctious children all super-hyped up on energy. Make sure you get everything you need before the program starts because you’ll be going through supplies so fast your head will spin.
Ideally, though, summer is a good time for savings. You can get great deals on back to school supplies off season. Stickers, prizes, and games are all a must. Extra desks and chairs don’t hurt either if your program gets booked to the brim. As for crafts you’ll want paper rolls, yarn, markers, and crayons. You may even want to consider some sort of goodie bags.
Once you’ve got all of these things you can play it by ear. You can always order more stuff as you need it. Try and look up different activities for the kids to do with these supplies so that you keep them engaged rather than drifting off into space.
